Welcome to Gp Boer Goats!
My name is Tyler Ashworth and I've been farming since I was a young boy here in Mecklenburg County, Va., where you will find tobacco farmers, cattle farmers, and in recent times meat goat farmers.
Here on Greensboro Plantation, my father, Tinker, and brother Chad, along with myself have been raising purebred registered black angus cattle since 1990. We run about a 150 head herd.
In Jan. 2007 I purchased my first boer goats, two bred percentage does just to test the "waters" of raising boer goats. Both does kidded with twins and after falling in love with the boer goat breed, I have since purchased a fullblood buck and numerous percentage does.
I have found ways to incorporate beef cattle management practices in raising high quality meat goats.
I have to thank my family, Tinker, Diane, Danielle, Chad, Jennifer, Jocelyn, & Ruth, for all their help.
