Farming beef cattle has been a part of Greensboro Plantaion since the early 1940's. The start was the production of quality commercial beef cattle with a imphasis on getting calves to market weight as quick and economically feasible as possible. Today, even almost 70 years later, we strive for the same but have a greater understanding of the indepth means of beef cattle production. Through means of artificial insemination and selective breeding we have inhanced our cattle operation to suit the needs of a growing market and decling acres of farmland. The steady growth of land inhabited by homes have caused the need for more production on less acres of land. In 1990, Tinker Ashworth purchased Greensboro Plantation's first registered angus from Locust Level Farms. The first bloodlines included PineDrive Big Sky, Tanto, Bando, Sleepeasy, etc. These bloodlines have lead up to bloodlines such as Rito 6I6, New Design 878, Gridmaker, Objectice, GAR Exclamation 3884, and 1I2. Each day we are trying to improve our efforts and the industry. Out of our calving groups each year we only keep the top calvces to uses as breeding stock.
